MathStep (the "App") is an educational app designed to support math learning.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our App.

We collect the following information:

This app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect the following information:

Device Information: Device ID, Advertising ID, device type, OS, language settings
App Information: App version, package name, installation information
Advertising Information: Ad impressions, clicks, advertising effectiveness data
Network Information: IP address (anonymized), network connection type
Location Information: General location information (country/region level, controllable via device settings)
Usage Data: App usage time, feature usage statistics

Note: AdMob does not collect personally identifiable information (PII). All collected data is anonymized or pseudonymized.

We do NOT collect the following information:

Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
Location data
Contact information
Audio or image data from camera/microphone (permissions are not currently used in the app)

We use collected information for the following purposes:

Data collected by AdMob is used for the following purposes:

Ad Delivery: To display relevant advertisements to users
Ad Performance Measurement: To measure ad impressions, clicks, and conversion rates
Ad Optimization: To improve ad quality and relevance
Fraud Prevention: To detect and prevent fraudulent clicks and impressions
Reporting: To create reports for advertisers (in non-personally identifiable form)
Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not share your information with third parties except:

Math expressions are stored locally on your device
Only math expressions are sent to OpenAI API over the internet
You can delete your history at any time within the app
Local data (math expressions, app settings) can be deleted by uninstalling the app or using the app's clear history function

Advertising ID: Stored locally on device, can be reset
Ad Data: Stored on Google servers for up to 24 months
Analytics Data: Stored in anonymized form for up to 26 months
Location Information: Only general location information is stored (detailed location is not stored)

You have the following options regarding AdMob data collection:

Reset Advertising ID: You can reset your advertising ID in device settings
Disable Personalized Ads: You can disable personalized ads in device settings
Restrict Location Access: You can restrict location access for the app
Delete Data: You can request deletion of AdMob data through Google Account settings
Complete Data Collection Stop: To completely stop AdMob data collection, uninstall the app

Note: Changing these settings will continue to show advertisements, but they may be less relevant to you.

Our App is safe for children under 13

We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

We do not collect personal information from children

AdMob complies with COPPA and does not collect personal information from children under 13
Only age-appropriate advertisements are shown to children
Personalized advertisements are not shown to users under 13
Age-appropriate advertisements are automatically displayed to users under 13

This Privacy Policy may be updated as needed

We will notify you of significant changes within the app

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and UK, additional consent management may apply for personalized advertising.
